August 10th was another successful meetup of the IA/UX group in Seattle. I’ve talked with the organizers Rachel Elkington & Andrew Szydlowski about why this event is so successful. The fact that there is no talk, no agenda, no formal presentation – you just have to show up and talk with other people who are there for the same reason you are – they want to be among their peers. And they are problem solvers! You gotta love people who can’t help but solve puzzles.

I always meet someone new who gives me a unique perspective, answers a tricky question or turns me on to someone else I should follow, read, discover. And of course wonderful sponsors like ASIS&T and last night’s local business POP (PS they’re hiring) substidize pizza and beer. Of course, right now it’s all about INFOCAMP October 2-3 in Seattle with two planning sessions Aug 25 & Sep 23.
