Under the CPTPP, tariffs on almost all imports between participating countries will be immediately eliminated or reduced. Tariffs on certain agricultural products and on certain other products will be eliminated or reduced by an agreed exit period. Upon request, the Department will provide written advice on whether this is TPP-11, which originated from CPTPP`s application for Preferential Form B659 – Request for Origin Advice Note: the Certificate of Origin must be signed and dated by the certifier and accompanied by the following statement: unlike some previous trade agreements in Canada, the CPTPP does not have a mandatory format for a certificate of origin. The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) provides Canadians with new opportunities to do business with the Asia-Pacific region by eliminating tariffs and providing preferential access to markets such as Japan and Vietnam. To benefit from the preferential tariff treatment granted under the CPTPP, an importer must have a certificate of origin attesting that the case complies with the rules of origin. . . .
