Jonathan Colman looking at the future of IA, Ruth Burr smiling in the face of SEO, Ian Lurie looking Search in the eye

Besides attending the monthly Seattle IA UX meetups I co-host, putting them together is the best thing. I get to meet amazing people, learn new things, hear great talks and sometimes even work with my favorite people. In February, Jonathon Colman helped me find two SEO and search experts with genuine, engaging stories to tell.

Significance, Search and Information Architecture

Ruth Burr of SEOMoz and Ian Lurie of Portent join us for a conversation about how Information Architecture, SEO and Search work together to create findable, eftective user experiences. I just had to use ALL of the keywords.

We’ve talked about SEO at the Content Strategy Seattle meetup and Portent has hosted our lovely meetup. There is always a chance we’ll bring it back and maybe feature Distilled next time. We’re really lucky in Seattle to have great SEO firms and even SEO tool makers. They’re genuine, honest and sending the right message about marketing and content. Search has swung around and creating really good “content experiences” for humans is the only way to ‘be discovered’ online (besides piles of money that big brands have).
